My name is Tony. I'm the CEO of SHOP.CA, and today I want to introduce you to a friend of mine, Deane.
Deane suffers from Cerebral Palsy and Myotonic Dystrophy. These two conditions mean Deane must use a wheelchair and leave him largely non-verbal.
As Deane enters adulthood, his ability to become more self-reliant is on the forefront of his parents' minds.
One of his parents is Mark. Mark is our main marketing man at SHOP.CA. I've been able to see first hand the passion and love Mark has for his family, and when I heard he might be in the market for a pet for Deane, I knew I wanted to help out.
For many families, the choice is unlimited when it comes to choosing which pup will best fit in with their lifestyle. For Deane, it's very different.
Deane's new best friend has to be a specially trained service dog.
A service dog would allow Deane to get through his day with more confidence and provide the kind of special emotion support that only a pet can.
The money we raise will help fund the cost of adopting a service dog.
