Shorty's Fight

Shorty has been an inspiration to all he has met along his journey. He has taught us all so many lessons and how to never loose faith. He has proven that the perfect dog can be found in the imperfect dog.

Shorty's journey began almost 2 yrs ago when he found himself in a high kill shelter in WV. He was partially paralyzed and heartworm positive with the saddest eyes ever. We could not let him down and brought him into our lives. With lots of love and therapy Shorty learned to do his own special Shorty Shuffle and leave his wheelchair behind.

Shorty has proven to be a fighter and he will continue to fight. He fought to get out of his wheelchair and now he will fight to keep his leg so he doesn't have to go back in his chair. As his good leg is not strong enough to support him if he ends up loosing his bad leg.

With your help Shorty will receive massage therapy to help with his nerve damage and to help wake up/stimulate his back end. He will go to swim therapy to help rebuild the muscle in his hind end and legs to help take the stress off of his bad leg. And will receive laser therapy to heal his sores.  
 
With all of this and our fingers and paws crossed his leg chewing should stop and is bad leg will be saved and his hind end will get stronger and walk even better!
