Comunity Sports and Team sports
Hello all my name is Andrew Robicheaux and I am from the
Baltimore area. Here is something I have been working on for some time now and
I have decided to move forward with. I hope you enjoy my story.
Well let me start by saying that I have been a volunteer in
my community for over 11 years now . I
have been coaching boys and girls in lacrosse, football, Softball and
Basketball and have had a lot of hours in the cheer community as well. Over the
years I have learned that it's not just about winning the game or the event..
Its about the lessons we teach whether it be the proper way to play or other
life lessons. To many people these days get caught up in the Win. And not the
true reason of why we coach . On a day
to day basses I see lower income family's that cannot afford to play Rec.
sports or even go hang out at the local rec. center because they are closed or
understaffed. This leaves many of the kids with the thought of what do I do now
? Well must kids go out and be kids and get in trouble or even worse get hurt
or loose there life .. I know that I can't stop this but I know I can help. I
have come up with a idea of opening a Sports center that would allow kids and
parents to do and play sports the they may not normally be able to afford or
think that they cannot do . My wife and I with the help of a ton of friends are
working on getting this going . I have found a place with low overhead I have
applied for the legal paper work already and have started a LLC . My goal for
this place would be to have a basketball court
So these kids have somewhere to play when they get turned
down by the rec. Batting and pitching tunnels that I can offer at a low cost to
talented kids that can't afford to go to normally. I will offer clinics
For lacrosse, Softball, Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading
and tumbling. I want to give these moms a place the can take their daughters
and do fitness work outs together . I have found a 16,000 sqft Building in our
local area that would allow me to do all of this .. I'm not looking to get rich
I'm looking to give our kids and community a place to go and have fun and learn
, Giving them another choice than hanging with gangs or running the streets.
But this isn't just for the unfortunate this will be open to everyone. Now I
would love to offer these at no charge it would be impossible . But I will be
able to offer these things at a huge discount of what they would normally cost
! For example I took my kids to a local place this past sat .were the charged
ten dollars a hour per kid to play basketball , when I was walking out I
noticed a kid that wasn't playing I asked why he said he didn't have that much
money. Well lets just say he ended up playing.. The point is I would offer this
at a fraction of that ! When reading
this I hope you don't get the wrong idea and think that I'm a rich guy that has
money to throw around or I'm looking for a way for early retirement . I am a
normal middle class man that wants to make a difference.
We would also offer private training time to rec and club
teams at an affordable rate to help in the cost of this adventure! If you have
