"His birthday is coming up - and we would love for this to be the last birthday he spends without a family." That thought echoes in our minds as we write our story . . .
We have lived in China for 4 years, and volunteered at a Blind Orphanage for a good portion of that time. Recently, we met the little boy that will fit perfectly into our family. We have applied, and been approved, to be matched with this special boy. J. - who is blind in one eye -he will be 8-years old in just a few weeks. We intend to be there for this birthday celebration because it will be the last one he celebrates in an orphanage (and the first we can share with him). His soon-to-be younger brother (our 5-year old) is excited to have someone to grow up with, to play with, and to wrestle with; and his older siblings (our older children) look forward to meeting him and helping him to grow.
So, we have started our home-study and begun the adoption process. Now, there are several fees associated with an international adoption with the total adoption cost totaling approx. $20,000. (This is actually low because we live here so we do not need to pay all the travel fees!) It is toward this ultimate sum for which we are in need of your help. Fortunately, most of the costs are pay-as-you-go, so we are raising funds at a lower level to meet those needs as they arise. Today, we are looking to raise $6000 by the end of February.
Would you please consider joining us in bringing home a wonderful, intelligent, amazing young boy; help us bring home an older brother, a younger brother, a son. We are extremely grateful for your help.
