Christine Ramirez Medical Expenses

Donation protected
On Sunday October 7, 2018, my aunt Christine became very sick! She started off with hives and what appeared to be a severe sun burn. When she went to the hospital, she was told that she has an allergic reaction to a new medication containing Sulfa that the doctors had started her on. She was given some allergy medication and sent home. Within 24 hours she got much worse! The hives turned to blisters and began to burst. She was taken back to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a very rare illness known as Steven Johnson Syndrome. SJS is extremely rare and in some cases is deadly. This syndrome causes many huge blisters all over the body, inside and out! The blisters have completely taken over Christine’s body. The illness affects the mucous membranes in the body, with the lungs being the largest membranes, Christine is now oxygen dependent. The illness also effects the eyes, Christine currently can’t see and there is a chance she might permanently lose her eyesight. Since the illness is so rare the doctors have never seen anything like it and are running numerous tests. Christine has been in the hospital for over a week and will need to be there for much longer! Her family is having a difficult time with the expenses, with Christine being in Albuquerque and they have to travel there often since they live in Las Vegas! All donations are much appreciated, please keep Christine in your prayers!
