Relief for the Alicia Battle Family

Donation protected

On Tuesday, January 14, 2014 around 1pm, the unthinkable happened. I was in the city and I got a call from my mother saying, "son Alicia's house is on fire." By the time I made my way over, the fire was fully set out and the fire department was beginning their investigation to determine the cause. Highland Park Fire Fighters got on the scene quickly, but by the time they arrived, the fire had done its damage. As I said the other day, they did a great job, especially since they were able to save the family Yorkie by resuscitating her.

I'm asking anyone who views this post, to find it in your heart to donate to the Battle Family. Alicia is one of the most resilient women I know and I've known her all of my life; she's lost her mother, her father and her only brother, and she's Still Standing. On top of that feat and as a result of this fire, she's lost all her possessions, clothing, and all of her keepsakes.

I know that money will not heal the wound, only time can, but we can do our part to ease the pain and to help the Battle family put the pieces of their lives back together with our support.
