Liver Transplant for Michelle

I am Michelle Jones Fortenberry and this is my Journey. Upon going in for simple gall bladder surgery May 2018, Doctors discovered the very poor condition my liver was in, later findings revealed later stage Cirrhosis/ Hep C in past blood work findings that my body fought off and fatty liver. Being a Mom 46 of two boys, Andrew and Anthony. I have decided to dig deep and give all that I have got and beat this disease head on with Faith and family. I am currently on the Liver Transplant list at UAB hospital/ Oct 2018. I will be responsible for hotel room and meals for 21 days following dismissal from hospital care. The hotel room will only have small fridge and a microwave available, I am required to stay with in 50 miles of UAB to closely monitor my body and how it reacts to new liver. I am the youngest daughter of Joe and Betty Jones, I have an older sister Annette Sherrill. I live in a small town of Coker, attended Northside High School Senior 1990, in Samantha, AL. Dat’s Good Restaurant Fayette, AL we had to close recently due to my medical needs requiring travel to UAB to see the best Doctors available. My husband; Brian and I have enjoyed antiques and had antique stores in which my love of painting drove a business endeavor, The Chalkboard Antiques in Northport, AL, in which I really enjoyed meeting new people and sharing my love for restoring antiques. I also drove a school bus for the Tuscaloosa City Schools several years while running my business. I am currently not physically able to work but I look forward to returning as soon as I am able. I would like to thank all friends and family at this time for prayers and donors during this journey to extend life in such an unselfish manner. Being a donor is a very honorable choice, I myself have been since my first drivers license and never thought otherwise. I pray for a miracle, God has an answer to my prayers.
