the Christopher Guzman Recovery Fund

On December 30, 2013, my father, Christopher Guzman, suffered a massive heart attack and was admitted to Central Florida Regional Hospital. Going into the heart attack, he had bronchitis, which certainly didn't help anything much.

On January 1, 2014 he underwent Open Heart Surgery (Double Bypass) to improve blood flow to his heart and prevent further Heart Attacks.

He began recovering nicely, and was set to return home when, on January 6, 2014 he suddenly suffered a massive stroke. Immediately after he could not move the right side of his body (arm or leg), he lost his speech, ability to chew properly, and ability to control his bladder/bowels.

Thankfully, he has since gotten bowel and bladder control as well as sensation and movement back on the right side of his body. Physical Therapists are pleased and hopeful with the progress he has made in those regards. Unfortunately, though, he still does not have his speech or comprehension back and Doctors say that is their biggest concern with his recovery.

Now we begin the very long, very difficult road to recovery. We've come together as a family to do what we can to help him along. He is certainly committed to doing his part in his recovery and we've already pleaded with God for God to do His part. All we ask now is that you be so kind as to do your part, as well!

Your part may be in the form of a monetary contribution. Perhaps instead it's your prayers and thoughts and pleas with God for help. Either way, no matter how you can help we ask that you do -- and we certainly appreciate any assistance we can get during these difficult times.

Originally, we set the goal at $5,000. Thanks to your generosity and kindness and by the grace of God, we are already almost there! This comes right at a time when we're learning that his recovery may be even longer-term than we originally thought. Now, we are trying to think ahead and plan  for what is to come. Because of this, we've now moved our goal to $15,000. This is to cover medical expenses and help him for as long as we can to get him back on his feet, God willing!

Again, anything you can give is appreciated tremendously!

Thank you and God Bless,

Christopher Guzman, Jr.
