Hello everybody!
My mother and I have received numerous messages about people wanting to help and requesting us to make a gofundme. This should hopefully help make it significantly easier for everyone and us as a family.
On December 1st around 3:00 AM, my mother’s home caught fire. Thankfully she was able to get out of the house with her pet kitty and call 911. The local fire company did a phenomenal job in stopping the fire from spreading upstairs, but the heat of the flames, water damage, and smoke damage has destroyed nearly everything my mother owned. Due to personal private reasons, she has had to live downstairs the past two years, which is where all of her belongings were and where most of the damage was. She has worked her entire life in buying her first home, and raised two daughters as a single mother. This was more than just a house, but a safe place for all of us. As fortunate as we are to not only have my mother survive this, we were also able to salvage some photo albums and other childhood memories. Unfortunately though, everything else is a total loss. We are going to the store today to buy my mother essentials (clothes, hygienic products, etc.). My mom is going to be staying with me and family members temporarily until we are able to find more permanent housing. But even then, she will need all the essentials in order to restart a lifetime of loss.
My mother is very independent (almost to her own fault) and is not one to ask for help from anyone, even when she needs it most. I have debated making a gofundme in asking for help, due to this being a difficult financial time for most families, especially with the holidays. Even if you cannot donate, just sending my mother some love and support through messages means the world to us.
Thank you all for the endless love and support we have already received ❤️
