WE HAVE MET THE COST OF THE TICKET. THIS PAGE IS CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY. PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
As you have likely read, the situation for sexual minorities in Uganda is dire. Our initial goal is to raise $2,000 to bring an Ugandan LGBTQI activist to Boston to speak. The airfare to NYC as of today is $1500, and we need a cushion for price increases and to get him from NYC to Boston. Once in Boston, this incredible individual, who goes by nick-name Long Jones, was featured in a couple of Documentaries Call Me Kuchu, and Missionaries of Hate. He will speak and raise awareness about the issues facing our community in Uganda, and possibly screen these documentaries (we are currently trying to secure rights.) Any overage will be put towards food and lodging, and other needs, for Long Jones.
