URGENT FINANCIAL HELP NEEDED
I’m reaching out to Trish’s friends, my friends, and our acquaintances for an urgent plea for much needed temporary financial support for an ever worsening crisis caused by a rare illness Trish was diagnosed with back in July 2018 called MALS. Thankfully, her operation in January was a success, but now is dealing with the long recovery process, still unable to work. The tragedy is that her long-term-disability insurance which is designed to protect her in just such emergencies... has not been paid by her insurance company, after repeated denials. We've been fighting with them for nearly a full year! They are claiming her condition is pre-existing, despite every one of her doctors and surgeons stating facts to the contrary. We are being forced to sue! This illegal withholding of her pay has caused us over the past year to deplete all saving accounts, credit and even 401k to pay mounting medical and travel bills incurred over the past many months, and recently, basic survival expenses. This unconscionable withholding of her pay for what seems like forever now has caused her to lose her car to repossession, which caused the loss of MY job, and now homelessness is a distinct possibility.
Anything you can donate is extremely appreciated!
Other ways to help besides donation: loans (if you can wait a few months for payback, increments of $1200 preferred), help organizing or brainstorming genius ideas for a local fundraiser (my band is looking into this, nothing set yet), advice on where to obtain emergency state aid (I'm researching this, they don't make it easy), or anyone with experience in PR... her plight with an evil insurance company bent on greed and breaching contracts nearing the point of making her homeless would make a great newsworthy story, provide awareness about MALS, and would be a great way to get more people to donate to her fundraiser... We are accepting any other out-of-the box ideas to solve the issue of surviving the next 3 months... If you have a thinking cap which operates in 'genius mode', now is the time to don it!
