Turning Tragedy Into triumph

The holidays will never be the same for the Smith & Hall families. Especially following the tragic Christmas Eve accident (2013) that claimed the life of 8 year old Lauren Jessica Renee Smith. This fatal accident to date has also left Jeff Smith in the hospital rehabilitating from multiple severe injuries with a great deal of physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological challenges ahead along his journey towards healing.

The media had an opportunity to tell their version. Now it is time for the real news worthy story.

Jeff Smith is a 26 year old man that has faced some serious transitions and adjustments throughout his life but has been successful at moving forward in a positive direction. At a very young age losing both parents to cancer, while recently dealing with his oldest sister and guardian being diagnosed with and gratefully beating breast cancer is just a portion of his story. 

Jeff has found a way to continue to go after his personal, professional, and academic pursuits despite the odds. Jeff is currently enrolled in a trade school for heating and cooling where he maintained a full time student status with a 3.5 GPA and is on target to graduate April of 2014. Jeff is a hard worker who is outgoing and loves family. Most importantly, Jeff was an amazing father to Lauren Jessica. The sun would rise and set for him each and every opportunity he got to spend with, care for and protect his angel. The mere thought of this tragic accident that would permanently separate this man from his heart is beyond devastating.

This journey towards healing is without question going to have to be a community effort with much prayer and support both physically and financially.
