Help Milo to keep living....!!!

Donation protected
Hello everyone. Our name is John and Barbara... We have a 5 month old puppy named Milo.

This is him at 2 months old.... our little buddy...
We rescued him and his sister Gracie at 2 months from a breeder. We only were going to get Gracie but found out that MIlo was going to be put down
After we had brought them home we found out that after we got them home Gracie did fine but we noticed Milo was having issues. The first issue was his back right leg was damaged and we were told it was not sensible to keep the leg so we were recommended it get amputated (this was at 3 months). Which we did and now we have a "tri-leg" dog..

The leg issue could have been from birth or caused when he was in the whelping pen we don't know which.

(Milo looking Mommy wondering - what is this white stuff!! These 2 pics are him at 3.5 months old)

Today 1/12/14 is his 5 month birthday and we expect to pick him up at the emergency clinic after rushing him there yesterday with a 104.7 temp. He was put on IV Fluids, IV Antibiotics, and watched for the past 24 hours. His temp has gone down to the point (.2 away from normal) we can take him home but we now will have a tough road ahead of us. We were told that Milo has been diagnosed with canine megaesophagus. This is a condition that causes the esophagus to swell up and food isn't able to make it to the stomach and the potential for him to aspirate and get pneumonia is great and could recur.

So because of this condition we have to get him a Bailey's chair and hopefully he will then be able to gain weight and be somewhat normal... ThIs is a chair that was created by someone a few years back that had a dog named you guessed it - Bailey... In short it is a dog high chair where it forces the dog to sit/stand on it's hind legs - in MIlo's case - his hind leg and eat from dish in front of him... See a picture of a dog (not ours) that has the same condition...

It is so hard to see our little buddy struggling..We are doing all we can to make sure we can keep up with his bills but it seems to get tougher as we go along...Here are a few bills that have come up already in the last month - with more to come for medications, treatments, dr's visits, etc...

Our little guy is only 5 months old, he has years left of being a playful dog, but we need to get him over and through this obstacle..The longer we wait, the greater chance he will/could continue to get bouts pneumonia.

We are asking for your help so we can give MIlo the best chance to live a long life, run around, play, get in trouble, dig in the yard, and most of all allow him to be loved so he can help people with therapy...

We cannot thank thank you enough for your time, concern, and support. Every donation helps. WIth much love, prayer, and kindness ..... John and Barbara
