Hello after being diagnosed in march 2013 with type 1 diabetes , our little kylee has been through and still is going through lots of changes. that will be for a life time unless a cure is found .
Constant highs and lows and battling the tears and pain of our little girl while she tries to hope for a cure and as she wants " to be a normal little girl again"
For most that do not know type 1 means you are insulin dependent . Her pancreas does not work . She needs a shot of insulin with every meal, plus one at night . on a typical day she pricks her fingers about 6-8 times not including days of high or low or sick.
A simple cold or illness to you and I can put her in the er .
The dr cost and prescriptions are very pricy but are not a option to not have .
Kylee would like to have a service dog to help her detect her highs and lows especially when she can't .
She also wants to be a scientist to find a cure for diabetes and fix everyone with it ( as she said to us ).
It is all very consuming , and expensive and sad to see someone go through this on a daily basis especially someone you love .
The cost of this is astronomical . The hope of a cure is never ending . and the love and support kylee needs is priceless .
Please help if you can by educating your self with type 1 and understanding it .
