Opening an All-Ages Venue-San Jose

This project originally began as a collective fundraising effort toward restoring and reopening the then-neglected Cine Mexico Theater on Santa Clara St. in San Jose, with the intention of turning the space into the south bay's largest all-ages live music venue, as well as a multifunctional community space open to the public. However, due to mounting financial obligations related to the Theater's condition that the previous owners faced, they decided to sell the building to a party that had the capital to take on those responsibilites.

Fortunately, the Cine Mexico is beginning to shine again as the new owner has been steadily putting in the labor to restore it, and there is still momentum and community support behind moving forward with opening a new space that we may call our own: this fundraiser will track the donations made toward our goal.
