Going this route has been a tough decision for us, but after the happenings of the last couple weeks kelly and I know we are going to need some help to make it through this process.
Over the past couple of months Kelly has been experiencing a lot of pain in her lower back and up and down the left side of her body. For the longest time we thought it was a muscle/nerve issue related to the recovery from plantar fascitas.
On October 31st the pain grew to a serious level of concern and Kelly went to the emergency room to figure out exactly what was going on. At that point she was diagnosed with kidney failure, a blood clot in her lungs and anemia. Over the 12 days she was in the hospital while a bunch of tests were run to figure out how those symptoms were related.
The end result was a cancer diagnosis. At 39 years old she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Multiple Myeloma.
Fortunately there is an aggressive treatment plan in place, but there is no cure for the disease at this point and we are still learning about the challenges that await as she fights towards remission.
These funds will allow Kelly to get the best treatment possible, and in doing so relieve her from a little of the stress involved in her recovery.
