Buddy's Medical Fund

Buddy has captured the hearts of so many especially those that have followed his journey which for most began around the time of Hurricane Irma. Buddy has been living on the streets of Lake Clarke Shores, Florida.  For over five months several have tried to catch him with no success. One family seems to have gained her trust, not alot of it but enough feed her, whenever she came to their house. Some times it would be for dinner , sometimes it would be for breakfast , sometimes she'd get bold and bark at their bedroom window. It didn't matter if it was 2:00 am if Buddy showed up they made sure she was fed.  It started with a bowl of food in a church lot. " Hey , Bud you hungry?"  Every time she was seen they'd take him food and each time move it little by little down the steet to their yard. Saving Buddy became a mission not just for them but many.  With sightings being reported on the Neighborhood Ap and by text messages. When a sighting came off they'd go, soon they were joined by others wanting to save Buddy. Buddy would out smart them all everytime.  Buddy  was even out smarting Animal Care and Control. Buddy had an escape route wherever she was.  A hole through a hedge, a missing section of fence, she'd even jump in a canal to stay free.  For over 5 months Buddy wandered, crossing busy streets, runnnng through parking lots.  On or about February 11th Buddy was hit by a car, now injured she had to be caught. Animal Care and Control came out daily sometimes joining in with the many who wanted to rescue Buddy.  They'd get so close but even on three legs she'd outsmart them. On February 20 th Buddy was found and tranquiled with a dart. The family he wanted to trust rushed to Animal Care and Control, befor Buddy even got there, texts were sent out, calls were made. The people that followed Buddy , that care so much about him started calling in to Animal Care and Control in support of Buddy.  Rescues were called, vets were called. Buddy was in bad shape with the odds against him. A CHOW, with no owner, no mico chip, non social, two dislocated hips, positive for heart worms. Most would have given up. Buddy though has survied on the streets for so long, shes a fighter and people are fightning for her. It was a tough battle but Buddy was released to Pet Haven Rescue and the family he wanted to trust is now Fostering him. He's on a leash! He's allowing them to pet him! Buddy wants to live Buddy wants a furever home. Buddy needs surgery on his hips, she needs to be treated for heart worms, shes currently on a prescription for pain. Afte month of surviving on the street Buddy is in a loving home, with not only a family that cares but many. Her medical cost are going to be close to $3500. Many have already made private donations. Offers to adopt her if her Foster Family does not have been coming im daily. If Buddy does not receive the medical treatments we dont want to think about her future, she probaly wont have one. Please, please help Buddy with a donation. no donation is to small.  All monies will go directly to the facilities the Foster family has offer to care for her as long as necessary to see she survies this with no compensation. They will work to socialize her and many have offer to give their time as well as serivces such as grooming and training. Buddy medical need are urgent ones, she needs to have surgery right away.
