Fallen Defenders Memorial Service

Donation protected
Members of the 66th Security Forces Squadron deploy thirteen members of their Unit on a bi-annual basis to various locations in the middle east.  On behalf of the Defender’s Club, a Private Organization comprised of Security Forces men and women currently and previously stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base, we are seeking support to build two memorials honoring the lives of our fallen comrades who were killed in action on October 2nd, 2015.

SrA Kcey Ruiz and SrA Nathan Sartain were deployed to the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing in Bagram, Afghanistan.  Both Airmen were assigned to the Fly Away Security Team where they provided security for personnel and cargo transport planes in hostile territories as part of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.  On October 2nd, 2015, SrA Ruiz and SrA Sartain took their final flight when the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft they were on crashed shortly after take-off from Jalalabad, Afghanistan.

In May 2018, the Defender’s Club will dedicate memorials at the two main installation gates to honor SrA Ruiz and SrA Sartain by placing a bronze statue, an engraved granite plaque and a sign renaming each gate.  The estimated cost of both projects is $30,000, and we welcome any donation toward the cost of supplies or donations in kind to support the dedication.  Donations can be coordinated with our Defender’s Club President, Tyler Kliss at [email redacted] or directly to our “Go Fund Me” site https://www.gofundme.com/66securityforces.  To note, our organization does hold a tax identification number 82-5103944, for your organization’s record keeping.  Donors are welcome to meet the men and women of the Defenders Club, view the memorial plans in person, and attend the dedication ceremony if desired.  Thank you for supporting the men, women and families of the Defender’s Club.
