I don't usually bother people for money, but a life is at stake. Abimbola Seye-Alli is a wonderful 45 year old Nigerian lady, a family friend of mine who unfortunately developed a severe heart valve disease. About 1 year ago she went into crisis as and had to have emergency open heart surgery to replace her aortic valve, at John Hopkins Hospital in Maryland, She did well at first but within three months the valve had deteriorated and she had to have another valve replacement surgery, this valve too failed within a few months, she has had a 3rd valve replacent surgery that once again has failed, her Doctors at John Hopkins then found that she has developed an Aneurysm( a weakness in the wall of an artery) of the Aorta, (the main artery that takes blood from the heart to the rest of the body). They have told her they believe the aneurysm has partially ruptured but is contained and that it can give way completely at anytime. If this happens, it will all be over very quickly. They placed her on hospice and asked her to go home to prepare to die. Naturally her husband and family friends refuse to accept this eventuality. We sought a second opinion with Dr Aire Blitz in Cincinnati , a very accomplished cardiac surgeon, who has reviewed her case and believes he may be able surgically correct her problem. The surgeon is not particularly worried about his fees but the hospital wants a down payment up front before she can be operated upon. you see Bimbo has no insurance she was here visiting from Nigeria when she had her initial crisis, over the last 12 months and after 3 separate open heart surgeries, her family's resources are drained.
Bimbo is sitting on a time bomb that can go off at any time. But she need not die, If we rally round her we can raise the money she needs, I appeal to you to please see fit to donate toward this fund.
