Help for Austin

Austin is an amazing little boy! :) He is a twin and the youngest of my five children. We knew he was "different" from birth. He has always had more troubles than his siblings. We waited 5 months to get him into see a pediatric neurophysiologist. At that appointment he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, developmental delays, and self injurious behaviors. He spends his days and nights seeking input. He has been receiving therapy for over 10 months now and has showed no improvements regardless of the many things we have tried. He is a danger to himself and needs constant supervision and protection. He will literally bang into things until he is bruised and bleeding and just does not stop.... I have been fighting to get him things through the insurance company with no luck.... He is considerably delayed in all areas of learning. Among other things he does not talk, walk, say momma, know his name, wave or play social games with his siblings. It is so hard to watch him struggle with every day activities, especially when he has a twin brother walking and talking right next to him.... My wonderful twin moma friends forced me to start this page for him. This page is for getting Austin a helmet and other special needs or sensory items that he needs. These items will protect him and make his life better in so many ways. Thank you all so much for wanting to help him. This money will be for what he needs now and going into a savings for the future items he will need as he gets older.
