on january 6, 2014 my mom had a ct scan of her brain to search for the cause of her headaches, vision loss, and confusion. little did we know, in just 72 short hours, our world would be turned upside down. the next day my mom was admitted to the hospital with plans of surgery to remove the brain tumor the following morning. the surgeon has confirmed that it is an astrocytoma, a high-grade brain cancer.

my mom is 54 years young. she has an amazing husband and two children who love her. she has a 1 year old granddaughter who adores her. she is a fighter, and despite everything that has evolved this past week she still manages to keep that beautiful smile on her face. her strength inspires me and i am so blessed to call her my mom. as you all know, this has been the toughest obstacle my family has faced. we appreciate every single kind word, gift, and meal that has been given to us since this nightmare began. we could never thank you all enough.

the reason i am starting this fund is because i have been asked by countless people what they can do for my mom, my dad, my family. my mom has a long, hard road ahead. i want nothing more than for her to be able to fight with as least stress as possible. she will be going through at least 6 weeks of radiation followed by chemotherapy. my dad has not left her side since this all began, and i would love for him to continue to be there for her as much as she would like. i know that every donation, at any amount, will help them in this journey without the stress of my dad missing work to hold her hand.
