Jason served on the USS Corpus Christi as a Sonar Tech until 2002. He found his way into Nikki's life in early 2008. It was easy enough to say that they fell in love at first sight and were inseparable from the beginning. He took on the father role with Kassie as though he had been meant for that specific purpose his whole life. His face would light up when Kassie would run to him in her diaper and relished in her hugs and kisses.
Through every hardship he faced he always learned from his mistakes and worked on making himself a better man; Nikki never gave up on him and was there for complete and unconditional support. He in return loved Nikki and learned the meaning of what true love really was.
He had a smile that would pull you to him and want to get to know him but his stories, humor and laughter kept you there.
We lost Jason on January 9, 2014, to a seizure. Saying goodbye to him has the been one of the hardest things any of us have to do; mostly for Nikki and Kassie. They have lost a father, husband and best friend. Nikki is now facing a life with just one income and as a single mother.
I don't know what the future holds but I want to do what I can as her best friend and try to cushion it for her the best way I can. So please, even if you can give just $5 it'll help more than you know and we will all be eternally grateful. Thank you for you time to read through this.
