Our friend Stephanie is a lovely lady and a wonderful mother. As a single mother, she has always worked hard in a full time job to provide for herself and her 14 year old son. Life was good "“until it wasn't.
Here's when things changed. This past October, after having her uterus removed because of cancerous tumors, Stephanie was diagnosed with a highly aggressive form of Leimyosarcoma cancer, and was informed that her cancer had metastasized to her lungs. Through chemotherapy, her doctors have been able to successfully shrink the tumor in her lungs. The next step is that they want to remove the tumor to give Stephanie the best chance at recovery. For that to happen, she must take 3 months off of work and be confined to bedrest. This will give her the best shot at recovery. So you see the problem:.where does a single working mom find the money to take 3 months off without pay? That's why we are asking for your help.
All of us love someone or know someone with cancer or may have experienced cancer for ourselves. This isn't about asking you to do much --- we are asking everyone to do a little, to give Stephanie her best chance. All we are asking is if donors would for just this week - give up lunch out one day, or your daily Starbucks or maybe unwrap that $20 you have tucked in the secret place in your wallet and donate that money to Stephanie's fund. If we get 250 people to share $20 with Stephanie - she can afford to pay her mortgage and car payment for those 3 months.
Maybe you know Stephanie or maybe she's just like you or someone you know --- most of us don't have 3 months of savings to take care of this much time off.
