Please help us if you are able. I have lost my home and almost everything in it due to hurricane Florence.
I am a Mommy, a Firefighter/Paramedic, a Teacher and Soccer Coach. I serve in any and every capacity I can to help my community and people/citizens every day. It is in my blood. It is my passion. Unfortunately due to many reasons - including the storm - and events and devastation I have witnessed and experienced - I have been diagnosed with and suffering from severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Asking for help is something I am incapable of doing.....until it comes to my amazingly resilient children. We continue to need help.
I humbly ask you from the very bottom of my heart - if you or anyone you know is able to give back in any way to those of use that serve you 24/7, we would be more appreciative than you could ever imagine.
Many of my brothers and sisters in Fire/EMS/Police/Telecommunications as well as many others on the front lines during this disaster have suffered devastating losses as well. But we have a gift of special talents that allow us to serve in unique capacities. We always put service before self. It is who we are. But it does or eventually will take its toll.
