Help Chiara's dreams come true!

This request is being sent to you regarding a local Sault Ste. Marie family. On November 29th, 2013, fittingly Black Friday, Amber and Chris Scornaiencki received news that all families pray never to hear. Their 5 year old daughter, Chiara, was diagnosed with Pontine Glioma; an inoperable cancerous tumour on the brain stem. Chiara is currently undergoing 6 weeks of radiation therapy at CHEO in Ottawa to alleviate the symptoms of the tumour, however, unfortunately, the radiation is only to improve the quality of her life and symptoms typically reoccur within 6-9 months and progress rapidly. Survival past 12-14 months from diagnosis is uncommon. It is a parents worse nightmare.
Amber has worked at Home Depot since it opened, Chris at Pollard Banknote. They are both currently off of work, spending as much quality time with Chiara and their 7 year old son Jaden as they can despite mounting medical, travel and household expenses. They are facing a short amount of time left with their daughter (although still praying for a miracle cure!) and the desire to make the next year of her life as amazing as they can.
