An Artist's Worst Nightmare

Imagine you make your living as an artist and suddenly you have no paints, no brushes, no studio in which to create. Suddenly, dozens of paintings you have worked countless hours on have been completely ruined.
That is exactly the predicament Deb Donelson faces because of a hot water heater explosion in her home while she was away for an extended period. There was standing water covering most of the floors in her house and spraying into her studio, ruining all of her works-in-progress, finished work, art books and her supplies. A lot of her other possessions and furniture have been ruined as well. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover this damage.
In order to get Deb back to work (and back into her house), she will need a clean-up by hazmat professionals because of black mold plus new art supplies. The cost of removing the black mold alone is $5,000+. Then she will need new drywall in some areas, the floors will need to be rehabbed and she will need to replace all of the tools and supplies she uses to produce her art. The sooner she can get back to work the better.
Deb is a fantastic artist that has shown in many galleries around the country. Her work is authentic, genuinely compelling, very personal and important. We, as her friends, want her to be able to have her life back to create many more of these outstanding pieces. We cannot imagine what it would be like to have your livelihood taken away in an instant. Not surprisingly, Deb is devastated and so are we.
