<div>Our friend, Bob Streams, suffered a heart attack and stroke on June 30, 2025. His stroke was very serious however, he was extremely fortunate that he did not experience any paralysis. He is experiencing speech aphasia, and challenges with fine motor skills. For example, he struggles to say the names of long-time friends and family members clearly, if he recalls their names at all. He also struggles to verbally identifying everyday items. For example, he cannot voluntarily say watch, phone, wallet, etc. when those items are placed in front of him to identify. In addition, he cannot execute simple requests – e.g. show me a thumbs up sign or an “ok “sign with your hand. With his aphasia, his mind is working and trying very hard to respond but he cannot say what he wants to say or it’s garbled when he tries to respond.

<div>Bob was released from the hospital on July 12, 2025, and will undergo extensive outpatient therapy. We are hopeful that targeted one-on-one speech and occupational therapies will help him overcome some, if not all, of his current limitations.

<div>Will you join us in helping Bob during this critical time? Many of you have known Bob for years and you know that he has a heart as big as a mountain and would do anything for anyone. This is his time of need! The funds will be used to pay for his monthly insurance; insurance deductibles for his medical care; food and basic living expenses; transportation to additional therapy sessions: and other unexpected expenses that will need to be addressed. As a sole source contractor, when Bob cannot work, his has no income.
