This is all new to me but it has been placed on my heart to help my childhood friend who is in end stages of COPD at the early age of 58. He was diagnosed in 2011 and has been through several doctors with no significant results. He has been told 1-2 years at best. He is unable to work and his family is not close to him in terms of location. He has been hospitalized several times without a plan of pain management and care.  I believe he has slipped through the cracks of our medical community...except for his last Doctor. Dr. De Priest from  the University of Colorado Health, pulmonology.  His latest trip to the hospital has been revealing to his mortality. His condition continues to worsen. He is broken and feeling helpless. I have chosen to help advocate for him as he is too exhausted and in too much pain to help himself. I am trying to get him into Mayo Clinic in Phoenix or Rochester.  He needs a lung transplant and a plan for his health care. His funds are little to none which has kept him from seeking better care. I am compelled to help him get the best medical care he deserves . I am asking for your help to cover his expenses for flight and lodging to Phoenix or Rochester at the renowned Mayo clinics. Please consider a donation. He is beyond ecstatic to think there might be hope at a diagnosis that may slow his deteriation until a transplant is available.  His life has fallen on hard times and needs our help. He has two daughters that would be so thankful to have their dad for 5-10 more years.
His hope is that some day he can sing again! He has an amazing voice!
