Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my request. My name is Trina Oatis and I'm writing on behalf of my daughter, Taylor Amison.

Taylor is an eighth grader at Oakdale Christian Academy and has been a member of the Oakdale Christian Academy Concert Choir, led by Terrance Smith, since its formation in 2010. Taylor is a very charming and outgoing young lady. Through the years, I have exposed her to various extra curricular activities. While maintaining a 3.9 GPA, Taylor is the captain of her volleyball team, she holds an orange belt with a black stripe in Aikido, is a member of The Top Teens of America, training for the 400 meter dash, and is an alto in the concert choir. Out of all the above, singing is her passion.

The children of Oakdale Christian Academy wanted to do something for those effected by the earthquake in Haiti. Mr. Smith was charged with the task of putting together a choir for a benefit concert and from there stars were born. Since then, the choir has performed throughout the Chicagoland area and has been featured at Loyola University's Annual Joy is Reading Conference, Power 92's Black History Celebration, Dr. Darlene Allen-Nichols' Touch One Life Conference, and Navy Pier's Winter Wonder Fest. They have also shared the stage with Walt Whitman's Soul Children of Chicago Choir, Oslo Children's Choir of Norway, the North Shore Choral Society, Donnie McClurkin, and Common. They also recorded their very first single entitled "i Believe" (video included). Their repertoire includes but is not limited to gospel, spirituals, and inspirational songs.

Another amazing opportunity has presented itself. The choir has been invited to tour Sweden in July 2014 with stops in Stockholm, Jönköping, Hönökonferensen and Gullbrannagården. Aside from performing for an international audience, they will also have the opportunity of seeing some of the sites; Grona Lund and Liseberg Amusement Parks and attend services at the Immanuel International Church and an evening service at Honokonferensen.

The cost for us to attend this extraordinary 7 day event is approximately $6500.00. I truly wish I could afford to cover the cost on my own and asking for help has always been hard for me to do but it is my hope that you would consider making a donation in any way you can. This is an opportunity not afforded to many and I wish with all of my heart for Taylor to have this experience and I can be there to support Taylor and chaperone the choir.
