Mac’s Surgery Fund

Meet Mac. We loved him from the moment we saw him and he had no hesitation in loving us back. He gives endless kisses, cuddles, and he lights up our home with good spirits and love. He is an emotional support animal and we cannot imagine our lives without him in it. We were devastated when on September 13th, Mac escaped from our home and was hit by a car. My boyfriend Isaiah and I spent countless hours making calls to police, vets, and shelters and canvasing the area repeatedly. After just over 24 hours we found him about 1 mile away from home hunkered down in a shady area. We found him unable to move and discovered a 10cm cut on the inside of his leg. We rushed him to our local emergency vet and After doing bloodwork and some x-rays the doctors concluded that Mac’s femur has been broken into 2 pieces and he will have to have surgery on Tuesday as well as be prescribed pain meds, sedatives, and antibiotics to ease his recovery while we wait for his surgery to be performed. Mac is expected to make a full recovery and will be running around the parks with us again as soon as allowed. The vet said his surgery alone will equal up to around $4,000 and that doesn’t include any medication he’s been prescribed, overnight hospital stays prior to and after his surgery, x-rays, blood work, and any physical therapy he might need. Isaiah and I have just started a new semester of college here at UW-Madison and are finding it impossible to scrape up money to take care of our beloved Mac in this unexpected emergent time. We want the best for our little pup and would appreciate any help that can be given by anybody out there to make sure Mac get the proper treatment he deserves. we could never choose to put him down over money, but the fact is we need help We love him with all our hearts and we want him to have a safe and happy recovery.
