This page has been created for the benefit of Stacey Barry, who was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia in March of 2011. Careful monitoring the past years have consisted of numerous CAT scans, bone marrow biopsies and monthly bloodwork evaluations. The latest round of tests indicated that treatments will begin in the near future, whether in the form of intravenous chemo, or in an oral form to be released later this year. Her immediate needs are to pay current medical obligations, and to raise funds to collect cord blood from her new grandbaby during his/her delivery in the coming week. These stem cells provide a medical hope for a cure in the future, after other forms of treatment have been utilized.

Stacey is a mother of four, and has been an educator and administrator in Jefferson and Orleans Parishes for the past 15 years. Her hope is that this year of treatment will enable her to continue in the field of inspiring and educating young adults, and to eventually pay forward the financial and spiritual support she receives.
