Help a Family recover from a fire
Donation protected
When we first met Gary and Latifah during our prenatal Centering group at Jefferson hospital I knew we were going to be friends. We met over the Fall and Winter of 2018/2019 and quickly bonded over expecting our first children together. Our daughters were some of each other’s very first friends and we’ve stayed in touch as they’ve grown. Our family’s friendship is so special because our girls go “way back” even though they’re only 17 months old. They are wonderful people who are going through some very difficult times right now and could use some support from their community to get back on their feet.
On Friday July 3rd their home was burned down in what is suspected as arson, along with a handful of neighbors they lost everything. They had been living with a family member working to save up and buy their own home but recently had to use all their savings on attorney’s fees in relation to a car accident that happened earlier this Spring. To make matters worse, because they were not officially listed on the lease, there is no insurance coverage for all the belongings they lost in the fire.

Life has been dealing some heavy blows to this family and I’m hoping to rally the community around them to help lift them up and get them into a more permanent, safe home of their own where they can watch their precious baby girl grow. Times are hard right now but if there’s one thing we know for sure it’s that there is nowhere more important than “home”.
100% of funds raised will be sent directly to Gary, Latifa and Ah’Durah to secure a new rental as quickly as possible. Any remainder will be used towards their immediate needs.
