USMC Vietnam Veteran and Retired Pueblo Police Sergeant Jerry Pino needs our help. After an 11month battle with an infection in his lower leg, Sgt. Pino developed sepsis and his best option of survival was amputation of his lower left leg. Due to complications, Sgt. Pino has spent 2weeks in ICU. He is now on his way to a rehab center for extensive physical therapy to build strength and skills to gain the ability to go home and live a productive life.
Jerry and his wife Rebecca live on the Eastside of Pueblo in an older home that is NOT handicap accessible. The doors need to be widened to accommodate his wheel chair and the bathroom will have to be reconfigured. Plans are in motion to building a ramp on the front of the house and volunteers are calling to do the work, but we need funds to work with.
Sgt. Pino protected and served his community for 27years There are plenty of stories about Jerry and his time at the Pueblo Police Department as a Sargent! Ask any of the men and women still serving about the terror they felt going into the Desk Sargent’s office as a rookie! It will make you laugh…I seriously think it would make for a great T.V. episode on one of the Law Enforcement Shows! After retirement, he never forgot the brotherhood he experienced as a Marine. He has held many roles in the local Marine Corps League organization, providing assistance to veterans.
I come to you today without a smile about his current situation. Sgt. Pino will have approximately 6weeks of rehabilitation and physical therapy before returning to his home. In that time, his family and community would like to make necessary adjustments to his home. If we pull together giving whatever we can I’m sure we will be able to thank this wonderful man for his service to our Nation as well as our Community.
It is my honor to ask on his behalf for a donation to this cause. Let us give back what we can to make his life a little easier. Rebecca (his wife), is still working and there will be times he will be alone with no one there to assist him. This is the reason for this Go Fund Me out reach. We need to get this home ready so when he returns home it will be a Blessing for Him and his family. Thank you so much in advance for your kindness. Please Pray for Jerry as well, he has a long road ahead.
Thank you in advance for your contribution!
