Kidney transplant

Bentley is my 6 year old nephew. He is a sweet, smart, and amazing boy who has enjoyed many major milestones this year in spite of dealing with kidney failure and now stage 5 (end stage) renal failure.  He was born in end stage renal failure. He had reflux if the bladder in utero and the urine was constantly pushed back into his kidneys as they were trying to form. Because of this his kidneys did not form correctly and were not functioning well at birth. Bentley recieved his first kidney transplant at 18 months old (yes they can out an adult kidney into a baby it's amazing) He hit quite a few speed bumps the first few months with that new kidney but had had almost 4 amazing years of growth and health.  However his kidney is dying, we always knew it wouldn't last forever.  We are yet again looking to find a new donor and to get Bentley a new kidney.  Bentley's team is at Maine Medical Center in Portland Maine about 2-3 hours from their home. Needing to find a new kidney donor means more trips, more appointments, more grabbing food along the way, possibly even overnights depending on the appointments.  Along with this regular bills will still need to be pais. The money raised here will be for those expenses, a place to stay for the night of appointments (there will be many the closer it gets), food during these appointments that last all day long, and unexpected out of pocket expenses related to his medical condition.  Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for helping in any way that you can.
