Dance for Dawn

My name in Melinda and I am organizing a fundraiser for my good friend Dawn Martin. Dawn is fighting a rare form of cancer and her and her family are in need of help.. Dawn found a lump in her breast in 2012. After a year of going undiagnosed by doctors, she finally was told she had a rare form of sarcoma. Dawn underwent several lumpectomies to remove the tumors and spine surgery in 2013. 5 more tumors were found following the lumpectomy and then a mastectomy had to be performed. Even after several surgeries, cells are still present, the tumors are so aggressive and have traveled to surrounding muscles. Dawn has to undergo another surgery to remove that muscle this May then will undergo a process of reconstruction of the breast. Depending how aggressive the tumors and cells are she may have to also go through chemo and/or radiation. As everyone can imagine, the stress this has put on Dawn& husband Jack and their two children is overwhelming. Jack serves in the military USCG and with the family down to one income it is hard to make ends meet. The expenses of Dawn being out of work along with the added expenses of trips to the hospital ( Fox Chase Cancer Center) prescriptions, child care are taking there toll. Dawn lost her mother to cancer and they have very little family in NJ to help. Even when Dawn was facing the 2nd worst time of her life, she still put her problems aside to help others. She is a kind and generous person who is always willing to help anyone in need. She is the one in need now and any help they receive will be greatly appreciated.
