Lake Park Food Pantry Gutted By Fire

On Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 1:00AM an electrical short started a fire in the Community Food & Clothing pantries at the Bethlehem Baptist church in Lake Park, Florida. Founded and operated by Club 100 Charities in 2015, we are heartbroken to announce that the food pantry, clothing closet and all equipment were a total loss due to the fire.The food pantry currently has over 400 registered families who depend on the weekly supplemental food donations which consist of fresh vegetables, meats, fruits, canned goods as well as breads and food items. The pantry has distributed over 450,000 food items and 390,000 clothing and personal items to those in need. With the support of our 30-40 volunteers we will begin to rebuild the facility so we will once again be able to serve the community. Estimated losses are over $75,000 in refrigeration equipment, food, clothing and other items saved for distribution. There was no insurance to cover these items.
