Sofia's Bone Marrow Transplant Fund

My Godparents who live in El Salvador have a daughter, Sofia, who unfortunately needs a bone marrow transplant. El Salvador is a small 3rd world country in Central America and they do not perform bone marrow transplants in that country. The only way she can get a transplant is if she travels to the United States. The expenses to travel and to perform the transplant are extremely expensive and her family really needs help from anyone that has the means. Any little bit will be appreciated. Thank you so much.

Me llamo Sofía Marchena de Maradiaga, soy Salvadoreña tengo 33 años , tengo una familia a quien adoro mi esposo y mi hijito Alex de apenas 6 años, en el año 2010 me diagnosticaron leucemia Linfoblastica, Aguda fue una noticia devastadora para mi , mi esposo, y mis padres , nos tomamos con fe de las manos de Dios y estuve en tratamiento de quimioterapia por dos años, el primero fue el mas cruel , se me cayo el cabello y todos los síntomas secundarios que producen estos terribles tratamientos como dolor de huesos, vómitos, diarrea, dolor en la mandíbula , bajas las defensas de mis sistema inmunológico etc, finalmente en el año 2012 termine los tratamientos y creímos que esta pesadilla había llegado a su fin, a finales del mes de octubre del año 2013 en mis exámenes de rutina salieron mal los exámenes y ahí comenzó nuevamente la pesadilla , haciendo varios análisis hasta dolorosos. El doctor opina que la única forma de vivir es un trasplante de medula ósea fuera de mi país, ya que lamentablemente no hacen este tipo de trasplantes, y agravando mas la situación
no contamos con los recursos económicos para poder enfrentar todo esto, mi esposo no cuenta con trabajo actualmente y yo siempre me dedique al hogar y a educar y cuidar a mi hijo.
Por lo tanto necesitamos de personas con buen corazón y amor a Dios que nos puedan ayudar económicamente para poder enfrentar dicha situación y a la vez darme la oportunidad de vida para continuar criando y educando a mi hijo Alexito, que por el quiero continuar luchando por mi vida , se que no es fácil lo que me espera pero continuare con fe y luchando por mi vida por mi hijo.
Primeramente estoy confiando en Dios que volverá a sacarme a la luz y con la ayuda de ustedes lo lograre.

My name is Sofia Marchena Maradiaga. I'm Salvadorian. I am 33 years old, have a family whom I adore, my husband and my son Alex who is just 6 years. In 2010, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. This was devastating news for me, my husband and my parents. We had faith and left it in God's hands. I underwent chemotherapy for two years; the first was the most cruel. I lost all my hair and all the other symptoms caused by these terrible treatments such as bone pain, vomiting, diarrhea, jaw pain, and weak immune system. My treatments finally ended in 2012 and we thought this nightmare had finally ended. I had routine exams at the of October 2013 and the results that came back were abnormal and so the nightmare began again. I had to undergo various painful exams. The doctor told me that the only way to live is a bone marrow transplant that must be done outside of El Salvador because unfortunately they do not do this type of transplant in my country. And to make matters worse we do not have the economic means to face all this. My husband, unfortunately, is unemployed at the moment and I always spend my time at home to educate and care for my son.
We need people with a good heart and love for God that can help us financially to face this situation while giving me the opportunity of life to continue to raise and educate my child Alexito who is the reason I want to continue fighting for my life. I know what I have to face is not going to be easy but I will continue to have faith in the Lord and fight for my life for my son.
I have Faith in God that HE will show me the light at the end of the tunnel and with your help it will be possible.
