Save Johnny

Johnny Rivera was and still is an incredible human being, but right now he needs your help. July 28th, 2018 he was trimming a client’s tree, a routine job for his landscaping business, when his tree trimmer fell from 30 feet with him inside. He grabbed the cage to brace himself for the fall but when it came down his head threw back and hit the asphalt. His skull was shattered beyond repair, he was in such critical condition that he had even died during his first surgery. The surgeon came out to the waiting room after anxious hours had past and sat down with us, his family. The surgeon said he was surprised he made it through the surgery and that he most likely would not make it through the night. If by any thin chance he made it through this, he would never be the person we loved. But he made it through the night! They had to remove his shattered skull and allow his brain to swell. We took it minute by minute for weeks, we were constantly told we may lose him but holding faith he would survive. Weeks went by and he finally started showing signs that he could breath on his own. Soon after, they were able to take out his breathing tube. For a month he didn’t wake up but he kept healing. We couldn’t believe that someone who was given a death sentence by the surgeon who had his life in his hands was slowly healing little by little. Johnny has now had a surgically installed 3-D printed skull and has been placed in a rehabilitation facility. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find the finances to provide him with the proper medical care he needs to one day walk, talk, and eat again, as of now he is much like a 2 year old but he seems to grow each day. He has been the picture of self will and the desire to live! He still can’t talk but when you ask him if he’s going to make it through this, he nods. When you make a joke, he smiles. He may not look like it, but he is still in there and we need your help to bring him back. He was always the first one to help when others needed him, but now it's time to help him! As per GoFundMe's policy I am providing the following information: My name is James Allbright, Johnny's first cousin and the godson of his parents. We are from florida. The money will be given to Johnny's parents as I withdraw it and via check or bank transfer whichever is more convenient for them. It will be used for foreseen and unforseen expenses relating to his care and rehabilitation. I have been very transparent and will continue to be so throughout.
