Yazzie Family Support

On Tuesday, September 4th, the Yazzie girls were involved in a fatal car accident just outside of Buena Vista. The occupants of the other vehicle, Joel and Sally Rash, were sadly killed in the crash. Both Malia and Scarlett were air lifted from Heart of the Rockies Hospital in Salida, CO, to The Children’s Hospital in Aurora. Within the first 24 hours, both girls underwent emergency surgery, and then spent time in the Intensive Care Unit. Each child sustained extensive injuries and a long recovery, both physical and emotional, is expected. Both girls are stable now and out of the ICU. We are focusing on the smallest of improvements and taking one moment at a time. As you can imagine, this accident has taken a huge emotional and financial toll on the entire family.
