We are non funded Wildlife/Animal Shelter that is run by a group of dedicated carers. We rescue, rehabilitate and release sick, injured and orphaned animals.
We are raising money to support the welfare and caring of the animals in care. On average a kangaroo Joey is in care for up to 2 years before release and possums for up to 6-8 months and wombats for approx 12-18 months. The care of these animals is mostly long term with a few short term stayers. By the time a Joey is released back into the wild it will have cost around $2000 per Joey for the 2 years in care.
The funds raised will be used to purchase milk formula, fruits and veggies for the animals, vet bills, straw and hay and other staples we need to feed them.
Some of the funds will also be used to build more yards for the wombats and joeys, aviaries and possum boxes and also koala enclosures.
If we have the funds to purchase the above items mentioned it gives our precious wildlife a better chance of survival. Our native wildlife in care get no support from our government so most of the time it is from your own pocket which is a big financial sacrifice that most shelters and carers take on.
