Tommy Jones Jr.

The last few days may significantly impact my family long term. Monday started normal, Tommy left for work and I was getting ready to leave to go to my job. Then the phone call, It was Tommy, he was being taken to the hospital- he felt off, was dizzy, something was not right. When I arrived he was being taken to the CATH lab. It was normal. He was out in a room and later became pretty ill. Rushed for a CT - also normal. Nausea meds not working, more tests ordered. He can not walk without assistance and even then it’s not pretty. Tuesday morning we get the news. Tommy had a stroke. We are still figuring out why this means for him and for us as a family. We know he needs rehab, not sure how long. He can’t drive at all don’t know how long that will be, so now we need to figure out transportation and travel arrangements for the boys to continue to play lacrosse, to and from school,  in addition to getting him to all his appointments.  We live in a 3- story house, and will need to move depending on how his recovery goes. Who knows what the hospital bills will look like. His employer is no help and has shown no concern ( I blame their delayed response for much of this). He had only recently started working for this company and they have shown that they are going to be no help and will not hold his job, so now  we have lost his income.  This could all be worse but he’s young and now is at a higher risk for more strokes.. I am trying to keep as much stress off of him as possible and honestly telling him we are fine and I got it all covered but I don’t. Any help will go to medical expenses and covering lost wages. I have already missed a few days of work and will be missing more to make sure he gets where he needs to go..
