From 2780 entries across Australia and the UK (over 1800 of these being Australian), I’ve made it to the Australian TOP TEN!!! This is for the Listen Up Music Songwriting Festival, a wonderful organisation which aims to spread positives and generate conversations around mental health and raise funds for R U OK? another brilliant organisation! The song I entered was written from personal experience and I’ve loved every opportunity so far to share this with others. To compete in the finals I have to get myself down to Sydney in November. The problem is I’m still on my final 500 hour student placement for my social work degree, which means money is extremely tight (kind of non-existent really). I had to crowd fund to get myself to the semi finals, which was big for me as I don’t like asking for money, and after much deliberation, I’ve decided to try again for the finals. I’m hoping that this campaign can be shared among other music and mental health enthusiasts so that the same people don’t feel pressured to donate again. So pretty please, if you come across this and can’t donate yourself, share this around in case someone you know can help out :)
