We at KSU Pi Kappa Alpha are very excited to present you with an incredible opportunity. We are organizing our first ever 5k, with all benefits going to the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children. Pi Kappa Alpha is a non-profit social fraternity that is dedicated to developing men of integrity, intellect, and high moral character.
Brain Tumor Foundation for Children is a not-for-profit organization that relies on generous philanthropic and volunteer support. It is also the first nonprofit organization in the United States to focus on the brain tumor disease. Their mission is to provide financial assistance, social support, and information for families of children with brain and spinal cord tumors; fund research projects that improve treatment options and search for a cure; and raise public awareness of the disease and advocate on behalf of children who are affected.
All contributions to this event will go to benefit the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children. With all of the contributions they can continue to provide their Butterfly Fund service. Which is an emergency financial assistance for basic necessities of life (rent, utilities, groceries, gasoline, car insurance and repairs, etc.) and item not covered by insurance (certain medical devices and medications, etc.) when a child is on treatment. The Fund also helps funeral expenses when a child succumbs to the disease. This is Brain Tumor Foundation's largest single program and is especially important when parents must take unpaid time off from work to care for their gravely ill child. The Butterfly Fund serves families in AL, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, SC, and TN at a current rate of $425,000+ per year.
