Ray Cara’s fight against Leaukemia

Donation protected

My dad has been diagnosed with acute leukaemia in the beginning of July. He was airlifted to Vancouver general hospital right away for his first round of chemo treatment.

He is happy that he was able to be released from the hospital last week, now he will begin his out patient chemo treatments at the Vancouver hospital until December. He starts his second round of chemo today and will receive the chemo every day for the next week and then they will review his bone marrow tests again.

The unfortunate thing is that he does not have a consistent place to stay while receiving more chemo treatment. He will have to move from location to location for the next month. (He lives 7.5 hours away) Also, some of his medications are not covered by his wife’s insurance (my dad is retired).

The reason I am telling you all of this,  is because I don’t want my dad to worry about anything besides staying positive and fighting this terrible cancer.  Any little bit will be a great help and go towards his accommodation, medication and food costs.

For those of you that know my dad, know that he is such a positive, thoughtful, amazing person. He is always putting others before himself, has something to laugh about and finds the good in everything. I am so proud to call him my dad.

Any words of encouragement and kind thoughts to my dad are always welcome.  If you want to do so please write a comment on this page, send me a facebook message or I can send you my email address.
