Help Julia Do Her Yoga Teacher Training!

I took my first yoga class in 7th grade with my mom and cousin, but my practice truly began when I was 15. I entered a hot yoga class wearing sweat pants and a bad attitude. Although the pants failed me, the experience did not and I left the class feeling blissfully happy. This is when I began to appreciate all components of the practice; the breathing, the mindfulness, each and every movement, and the benefits it offered my mind and body. Since moving to Chicago I have been fortunate enough to spend the last three and a half years working in the yoga community. I would not be where I am today if it weren't for the relationships with teachers and fellow students that I have made, which have allowed me to grow and understand yoga even more. I love to share yoga with my friends, whether it is teaching them a few poses to help personal stress or a physical injury, or taking a class with my friends and family. I have found that nothing empowers me more than sharing these experiences. Practicing over the past seven years has allowed me to get a grasp on my stress and learn how to manage it, especially living in a fast-paced environment like Chicago. As I have grown in this practice I have slowly become ready to take it one step further, as I work to begin my journey into deepening my practice through teacher training. I believe that by completing this program I can continue to share yoga with others and help them find a method for stress management and, more importantly, I can teach them how to feel comfortable and love their bodies.

In order to pursue this dream I need to secure funding to help me pay for training at Yogaview, where I have worked for the past year and a half. The studio offers a fantastic curriculum and the ability to study with well-established teachers in the community and like-minded peers. The program runs March 8th-May 25th, totaling 200 hours. Here is a link to a video about Yogaview's teacher training!

I want to thank you all for your support, whether it is monetary or emotional, it all means so much to me! Namaste!
