When it comes to playing baseball, talent is what you have, but effort is what you give.
The Orange County Chargers Baseball Club (OC Chargers) is a Lake Forest based youth baseball team. The program is responsible for developing young athletes who have a big heart for the game, not just into future high school baseball players, but future leaders in our community as well. This team of 6th graders will eventually attend El Toro High School, which has one of the leading baseball programs in the state. Not only was ETHS Baseball the 2008 and 2017 CIF Division 1 Southern Section CHAMPIONS, and the LEAGUE CHAMPIONS for numerous years, many alumni have continued in their baseball career to play professionally, including Nolan Arenado (Colorado Rockies), Austin Romine (New York Yankees), and Matt Chapman (Oakland A’s).
Please help us RAISE SUPPORT to send this hard working based baseball team to Cooperstown, NY, in July of 2019! Each player is required to pay an $1800 tournament fee, which does not include airfare!
If you have not heard of Cooperstown, it is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME experience where 12 year old baseball players from all over the country (and the world!) compete in a week long baseball tournament. Not only does this program build life-long memories, lasting friendships, and better ball players, this is an opportunity for this group of kids to be heroes and realize that dreams really do come true. Every kid in America should have the opportunity to play at Cooperstown as a 12 year old.
This is a great honor, but also comes as a large expense, which is why we need your help! In addition to this GoFundMe page, we are instilling in our players important lessons of responsibly raising money for a good cause, both through individual and group fundraising. Our players are putting on yard sales, saving up on their own, asking for donations in lieu of Christmas or Birthday presents, recycling, and/or washing cars in order to make their dreams come true!
As a thank you, our players will personally send a signed picture to you from our Cooperstown tournament!
