Donald Wards Fight With Cancer

My name is Darlene Kondel. I am a family friend & co worker of Betty Ward . Donald Ward was diagnosed with Cancer in 2015. The type of Cancer Donald is battling is very rare, This cancer normally appears in men years after they have had prostate, colon or another type of cancer, however in Donalds case he never had a previous cancer, as they continued to look and look for the primary cancer only to find out that it was not there. Time has passed, with many doctor appointments and treatments in Regina over the years . The cancer has leached into his lymph nodes and spread . He recently underwent 5 treatments of radiation on his brain and is presently in Melville hospital. Donald is a 63 year old farmer, school bus driver, carpenter and lives in the Bangor area. He is a husband of 40 years, father & grandfather. His wife Betty has taken a leave from her employment at St. Peter’s to be by Donald’s side. Watching a family go threw the stages of cancer is heartbreaking This is a huge financial burden on a hardworking family and I know if we all pull together we can help relieve the stress financially.
