Help Save My Dad’s Life

While on vacation in cape cod my dad suffered a very serious “coronary event”. Although the doctors don’t know what the cause was, (heart attack, too much adrenaline, etc.) he collapsed after going down a huge water slide and went into cardiac arrest. He flat lined and was without oxygen for over 30 minutes, but the doctors were able to bring him back with the defibrillator and immediately began the TTM protocol (they induced a coma and hypothermia by cooling his body temperature below 90F) which ended up saving his life and preserving his brain tissue. Without this, he had a 5% chance of survival. Although we have received a miracle and he is now awake, talking, eating and can even walk down the hallways with a walker, he is experiencing complications with his kidneys and has a creatinine level over 12. He is now on dialysis and we are praying it doesn’t affect his heart any more. Before he leaves the Cape Cod Hospital he must have a defibrillator implanted into his heart, otherwise he has to sign a waiver because the doctors believe it is too risky for him to leave with nothing to protect him from another event like this happening in the future. Given this event was so traumatic, he most likely will not be home and working any time soon. He is a self employed guitar teacher and band member and my mother, the only income in my family for now, is a CNA. This has been very hard on my little brother and I as well and we appreciate any help that we can get. Thank you very much.
