Hello, my name is Elizabeth Luckman and as many of you know I’m Barb’s niece. On 6/18/18 Barb had the removal of an enlarged lymph node from her neck. Unfortunately, it was not the outcome we all expected. After a bone marrow biopsy and a pet scan Barb was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Follicular lymphoma. It was determined, that since the cancer is asymptomatic at this time that a “wait and see approach” would be better than any treatment options. Barb and her family have decided to seek a second opinion in order to achieve the best possible outcome, and explore possible therapies. She will be taking a journey to MD Anderson’s Lymphoma/Myeloma Center. She is preparing for an up to a seven day stay, more testing, and hopefully not another bone marrow biopsy. She and Megan will arrive in Texas on 9/4 for an appointment with Dr. Raphael Steiner on Sept 5th. Barb would like to thank everyone who has reached out to her with thoughts and prayers. People have asked how they can help so we have set up a Go fund me page to offset the cost of her trip.
