Help For Rich Skrodenis

Donation protected

I am raising money for my son Richard. Here is my story. 4 years ago my husband died so I sold my house and help my oldest son and family get a house of their own. They found the house of their dreams! Four months later their house burned and it was totaled! It took a year to rebuild but they struggled as the fire brought out the PTSD to the point he lost his job and is still unable to work. His disability check which made the house payment now had to be used for living expenses. The house was therefore foreclosed upon and auctioned off in May of this year. They received an eviction notice but due to his PTSD he could barely get through a day without the problems of looking for a place to live and packing. His vehicle needed repairs and was often not working which also inhibited them from finding a place to live. The new owners accused him of purposely stalling and called for the eviction to be carried out. When the eviction people arrived they told Rich that they would put all their belongings in his trailer for him. Well they didn't do that. They put everything on the curb side. Again his PTSD became major so as he was going to the VA hospital his wife took a car load to the storage unit. While she was gone everything was stolen although neighbors told people to leave it alone. Rich and his wife were devastated. His response to this was similar to this. I love America, I gave 22 years of service with two tours in Iraq and was willing to give up my life for my country and its people. I love you America but I despise your people. All my possessions including all of my army medals and memorabilia are gone! I am starting this Fund in hopes to restore some of those possessions and Faith. He and his wife and four-year-old are now homeless and at a loss to lose everything. Furniture and belongings they struggled to get after the fire while the insurance company dragged their feet and getting checks to them. Richard needs to know the America he saw that day is not the America he sacrificed for. People do care about our soldiers especially those who brought the war back home in their mind and daily struggle with PTSD. He has lost his home and belongings twice in 4 years. I'm asking those who care to show him that love by helping him restore some of his losses. Thank you for caring and sharing. His Mom.
